Texas returned to the pool on day three of the 2017 Men’s NCAA D1 Swimming and Diving Championships with a 60 point lead over California. The Golden Bears have the Florida Gators on their tail headed into night three. Swimming World’s Peter H. Bick has been on deck capturing all of the quick swims and tight races.
Chase Kalisz cruised to the top seed in the 400 IM this morning. The Georgia senior will look to lower his own NCAA, U.S. Open and American record times tonight, with his college and Olympic teammate Jay Litherland returning second.
Texas senior Jack Conger improved on his fifth fastest time ever in this morning’s 100 butterfly. He’ll have to hold off teammate and Olympic gold medalist Joseph Schooling for the win tonight. Their teammate Will Licon will look for another win for the Longhorns in the 100 breaststroke.
Ryan Murphy posted the third fastest time in the 100 backstroke before leading the Cal Bears to the top seed in the 200 medley relay.
