With about one month until college swimmers are all back on campus, the thought of NCAAs is beginning to re-enter swimmers’ minds. The meet where success is determined, goals are hopefully reached, and one team gets the honor of taking the victory plunge in full warmups!

Competing at the NCAA Championship meet in March is many college swimmers’ annual goal. It begins as a goal of competing, then scoring, and finally winning.

Each year, times drop, swimmers step up for their team, and superstars are born. Those superstars are rivaled each year to maintain the top spot, or two swimmers compete to take over the newly incumbent champion seat.

Although next year eight highly talented swimmers will suit up for each individual event final; I have singled out two swimmers to faceoff. I think these two swimmers in each event will push each other for the coveted 2016 gold trophy.

I have created a “tale of the tapes” for each event, the two swimmers are my predicted fight for the title at the 2016 Men’s Division I NCAAs.

An honorable mention is included, as a possible wildcard to shake up the gold medal pursuit between the two swimmers fighting it out for the top spot. I have broken the fight cards daily for each of the three NCAA competition days. Each day features a main event that I feel is the best match-up. And at the bottom I note my top main card.

Feel free to post your thoughts of the winners below.

Ding…Ding……FIGHT!!

Chase Kalisz is taking a year off for trials. Come on, old news. I would put Josh Prenot or Andrew Seliskar in his stead.
