2016 NCAA Division II Nationals: Day 1 Prelims Live Recap
The first morning of the 2016 NCAA DII Nationals in Indianapolis started off fast.
A pair of DII records were broken, as Queens’ Patricia Castro Ortega set a new mark in the women’s 200 IM and Drury’s Wen Xu broke the previous record in the women’s 50 free.
On the women’s side, Queens has qualified five swimmers and one relay for tonight’s finals. Five of those swims will be in an A-Final, which will give them some huge points.
Both Queens and Tampa have five swims tonight for the men. Queens has three in an A-Final compared to Tampa’s two, and Queens will need as many points as possible to make up for their 200 medley relay DQ.
