Williams’ Benjamin Lin, Jake Tamposi, Thad Ricotta and Alexander Nanda put up a 3:13.49 to win the men’s 400 medley relay.
That effort demolished the previous NCAA D3 record of 3:15.09 set by Denison back in 2012.
Emory’s Mitchell Cooper, Andrew Wilson, Hayden Baker and Alex Hardwick clinched second-place honors with a time of 3:13.55, also under the previous record.
Kenyon’s Harrison Curley, Trevor Manz, Christian Josephson and Austin Caldwell touched third with a 3:14.69 for the third swim under the previous NCAA D3 record.
Kenyon carries a 287-209 lead into day two with Denison standing second.
