16-Year-Old Joshua Zuchowski Hits 1:41 200 Back at NCSAs in Orlando
16-year-old Joshua Zuchowski of Flood Aquatic Swim Team in West Palm Beach, Florida moved up to third all-time in the 15-16 age group in the 200 backstroke at the NCSA Championships in Orlando with a 1:41.68. Zuchowski now sits behind Ryan Murphy (1:40.90) and Carson Foster (1:41.66) as he improved on his best time of 1:44.0 from earlier this season in December.
Zuchowski was out in 49.75 and back in a 51.83 to win the final ahead of Samuel Powe (1:42.39) who is also 16 and moved to eighth on the all-time list for 15-16 year olds.

17-year-old Josephine Fuller improved on her own best time with a 1:52.73 in the girls 200 backstroke as she came into the meet with a best of 1:54 where she was 99th on the all-time list for 17-18 year olds. Fuller is now 33rd on that list as she will be a freshman at the University of Tennessee this fall. She won ahead of Maggie Wanezek (1:53.57) and Zoe Dixon (1:54.06).
In the men’s 100 freestyle, 18-year-old Reese Branzell won at 43.63 ahead of 16-year-old Will Hayon (43.74) out of Wisconsin. Hayon is now 15th all-time in the 15-16 age group, improving from his 43.91 a couple weeks prior. Hayon swims for Mid Wisconsin Wave Makers and is a current junior.
Branzell has committed to swim at the University of Georgia for this fall.
In the women’s 100 freestyle, Auburn commit Lexi Mulvihill won at 49.35 ahead of Virginia commits Zoe Skirboll (49.65) and Claire Tuggle (49.69), while Daniel Worth (24.42) and Lucy Thomas (27.12) won the 50 breaststroke.
