Indiana senior Lilly King won her fourth straight NCAA title in the 100 breaststroke on Friday night at the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas. King reflected on her four year journey to this moment and how much she has learned along the way.
She said she did not want to repeat what she did her sophomore year when she broke the American Record at Big Tens and did not go faster at NCAAs. King also reflected on what winning four NCAA titles in one event means and how she is not taking it for granted this year.
When asked if King expected to win four NCAA titles coming in to college, she brought up her freshman goal sheet that she found that said to “make an A-Final at NCAAs” as a freshman.
