Five Big Things

By Abby Boone, Swimming World College Intern

ORLANDO- The 2015 NCSA junior nationals opened yesterday and the meet was kicked off with fast swims and a new record. Matthew Hirschberger, 16, of Nation’s Capital set a record in the 1000 free with a time of 8:45.11, breaking Jeff Kostoff’s record of 8:49.97 from 1982. That’s 33 years knocked off the books.
