Team Russia acknowledged their supremacy in synchro events, winning the team technical routine tonight. This was the third gold medal for the admitted leaders at the FINA World Championships in Kazan after victories in technical solo and duet and silver in mixed duet. Russians performed their high-speed “Kaleidoscope” programme brilliantly, earning 95,7457 points. China (94,4605) and Japan (92,4133) completed the podium. It was unusual not to see Spain among the medallist. But the Japanese bronze in tech duo and team routine is not for nothing. We should mention that team Japan got back their coach who left in 2004 to raise synchronized swimming in China. A good battle is expected in Rio-2016.
