Viktoria Zeynep Gunes Lowers Own World Junior Mark in 200 IM at 2015 FINA World Junior Championships
Turkey’s Viktoria Zeynep Gunes grabbed another World Junior record with a win in the women’s 200-meter IM at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships.
Gunes hit the wall in 2:11.03 as she crushed the meet record of 2:12.32 set by Ruta Meilutyte, and cleared her own World Junior mark of 2:11.46 from Worlds. That’s slower than the unratified World Junior mark of 2:10.12 by Zhou Min at the 2014
Canada’s Mary-Sophie Harvey placed second in 2:12.37 with Great Britain’s Georgia Coates taking third in 2:12.74.
