University of Nebraska Omaha Lands Verbal Commitment From Sydney Haynes
NEW COMMIT: Sydney Haynes, a senior who swims for SwimMAC Carolina has verbally committed to the University of Nebraska Omaha. She attends Marvin Ridge High School. At the 2017 North Carolina 3A High School state championships she finished seventh in the 500 freestyle, going seven seconds faster than she went at the previous week’s Western Regional.
She wrote on Instagram,
“SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Nebraska Omaha!! I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for being so supportive through this process:))”
Haynes ended with her summer season with a short course yards meet that yielded lifetime best times in three events. Her best times include:
- 200 Breast 2:27.61
- 100 Breast 1:08.42
- 200 IM 2:13.56
- 200 Free 1:57.28
- 500 Free 5:12.67
SwimMAC seniors who have given verbal commitments to college programs include: Emma Walker, Lilly Higgs, Teddy Perelli, Julia Menkhaus, Curtis Wiltsey, Will Chan, Heidi Lowe and Sophie Linder.
