U.S. Synchro Team Finishes Ninth At FINA World Junior Championships
KAZAN, Russia – Members of the U.S. Junior National Team finished ninth in the team event Tuesday at the FINA World Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships.
The U.S. duet of Rachel Lau (Cupertino, Calif.) and Jacklyn Luu (Milpitas, Calif.) also finished 11th in duet, scoring 157.9839 points.
Team USA, which had been in eighth place after Saturday’s team preliminary, scored 157.7240 points in the final. Host Russia was first, followed by Japan and Ukraine.
U.S. team members competing in the team event at the World Junior Championships are: Caitlin Klauer (Andover, Mass.), Natalia Vega (Guaynabo, P.R.), Rachel Lau (Cupertino, Calif.), Victoria Woroniecki (Palm Coast, Fla.), Jacklyn Luu (Milpitas, Calif.), Grace Alwan (Anover, Mass.), Lily Randhawa (Mesa, Ariz.), Rachel Ye (San Jose, Calif.), Lindi Schroeder (Anover, Mass.) and Louisa Strutynski (Carmel, Calif.).
Nikki Dzurko (Monte Sereno, Calif.) is in ninth place heading into Wednesday’s solo final.
