Nova Southeastern’s Anton Lobanov threw down an epic time of 51.63 at the NCAA Division II Championships to move to sixth all time in the event’s history.
Lobanov’s time not only crushed the NCAA D2 record of 52.43 set by Tampa’s Aleksander Hetland back in 2009, it also tied Lobanov with Nolan Koon for sixth ever in the event.
Wayne State’s Piotr Jachowicz took second in 52.74 with Queens’ Nic Erksson snaring third overall in 52.85.
Queens took a slight 256.5-255.5 lead over Drury following the amazing event.

That time is insane!
Congratulations, that is awesome!
Actually this is the second time Lobanov has broken the NCAA DII record as he took down Hetland’s standard w/his 52 flat @. the Sunshine State Conference Championships February 20 in Orlando.
His pr lcm is 1:00.08 from way back in December of 2K9 @. a meet in Qatar called the Doha Gymnisiade.
He represented Russia the following summer @. Helsinki (Euro Jr. Championships) where he went a 1:00.34. His best last season was a 1:01.34 in the semis @. the Russian Euro. Championships Trials. Be interesting to see how he fares @. Russia’s World Championships Trials meet this spring. Perhaps the confidence he gains from winning here will help put him on the team for Kazan.
Best looking stroke I’ve seen in a while. Amirite Luke Ekhoff, Nathan Burdick, Justin Babitsky?!
