Madison Brown Verbals to Missouri State Bears

Madison Brown won’t have to venture too far for college as the St. Louis-native will swim a short ways down the road at Missouri State University.

“I had a stressful start of senior year trying to decide what school would be best for me, but once I went on Missouri States Campus, I knew God had led me to where I needed to be,” she said.

Brown is primarily a backstroker, with top times of 2:03.01 in the 200 back and 57.41 in the 100 back. She should contribute right away for the Bears as her 200 time would have put her into the championship final at last year’s Missouri Valley Conference Championships and into the consolation final of the 100 back.

Brown’s other strong events include the 200 IM (2:11.31), 100 fly (59.21) and 200 free (1:55.35). In long course, she has posted times of 2:22.13 in the 200 back, 1:06.03 in the 100 back, 2:31.71 in the 200 IM and 1:06.54 in the 100 fly.

Brown currently competes for Parkway Swim Club under coaches Jon David Williford and Thom Bick. She is set to serve as captain of Parkway Central High School’s varsity swim team for the second consecutive year and has been team MVP each of the last two years. She comes from a swimming family and has an older brother who is currently a senior at Truman State University.

Brown is considering a business major at Missouri State.
