Janka Juhasz Holds First in 800 Free After Prelims of Day Two of the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships
Janka Juhasz of Hungary currently leads the competition going into tonight’s finals of the women’s 800-meter free where the final heat of the event will take place. Juhasz turned in a sizzling time of 8:40.07 from heat five to claim the top spot.
Dong Fuwei of China holds second overall with a finishing time of 8:41.85, dropping 9.79 seconds from her seed time of 8:51.64.
Spain’s Laura Rodriguez turned in a sizzling 8:44.00 for third overall. Rodriguez added slightly to her seed time of 8:40.12.
Canada’s Olivia Anderson posted a time of 8:44.50 to grab fourth overall, bettering her seed time of 8:46.35 by 1.85 seconds.
China’s Yang Chang grabbed fifth in the rankings with a finishing time of 8:4.54, while Ireland’s Antoinette Neamt turned in a time of 8:46.45 for sixth overall.
Seventh went to Australia’s Mikayla Messer who finished with a time of 8:47.80, and Germany’s Lisa Katharina Hopinnk rounded out the top eight with a time of 8:47.91.
