First Class of Honorees to be Inducted in International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame

FORT LAUDERDALE, Oct. 3. ON Saturday evening, January 11, 2003, the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF), will induct its first class of Honorees into the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The group consists of 15 outstanding Masters athletes. They are Dr. Ransom Arthur, June Krauser, Gus Langner, Clara Lamore Walker, Ray Taft, Jayne Bruner, Graham Johnston, Tim Garton, Gail Roper, Kelley Lemmon, Ardeth Mueller, Barbara Dunbar, Maxine Merlino, Patty Robinson Fulton and Peg Hogan.

Dr. Arthur and Messrs Langner and Taft are deceased.

This first-time ever induction class was selected by the IMSHOF Selection Committee and this induction will be held in conjunction with the semi-annual ISHOF Board of Directors meeting.

The Induction is open to the public. All Masters athletes, family, friends and aquatic enthusiasts are invited to join in this wonderful celebration.

Admission for the event is $100 per person (portion tax-deductible), which includes a cocktail reception, full course (semi-formal) dinner and the induction ceremony. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending only the induction ceremony, the cost is $25.

The International Swimming Hall of Fame is the not-for-profit shrine dedicated to the heroes in aquatics. Located on Fort Lauderdale beach, the facility features exhibits on more than 500 honorees, the most extensive Olympic collection of any sport, and is highlighted by the Henning Library and Archive Center for research. Exhibits open daily.
