It took her until the final touch, but Drury’s Katya Rudenko got the job done against defending champion Mary Hanson of Cal Baptist. Rudenko managed to down Hanson, 52.75 to 52.88.
Both were a bit shy of Hanson’s NCAA D2 mark of 52.45 from last year.
Carson-Newman’s Natalie Burnett hit the wall third in 54.27, while Queens’ Hannah Peiffer snagged fourth overall in 54.55.
Queens remained in the lead, 345.5-320.5, against Drury.
