Baylor Crushes Southeastern Swimming Relay Records
While swimming at the 2016 Southeastern Region 2 Championships, the Baylor Swim Club took down a few Southeastern Swimming relay records.
The foursome of Ellie Waldrep (27.57), Addison Smith (31.33), Dallas Woods (26.09) and Jewel Gordon (24.26) clocked a winning time of 1:49.25 in the girls 13-14 200-yard medley relay to capture the record. Tennessee Aquatics held the previous mark with a 1:50.38 in March of 2014.
Meanwhile, Baylor’s Jack Kirby (22.4), Peter Lochmaier (21.5), Zach Althoff (21.9) and Trey Freeman (21.0) posted a 1:26.99 in the boys 15-16 200-yard free relay. Splits were provided by Baylor as official results do not display splits. The previous record had been held by Spencer Rowe, Kevin Thomas, Jacob Sosna, and Troy Taylor with a 1:27.28 from 2009.
Additionally, the quartet of Zach Althoff (24.41), Jason Green (27.57), Peter Lochmaier (22.96) and Trey Freeman (20.77) clocked a 1:35.71 in the boys 15-16 200-yard medley relay. That crushed the previous record of 1:37.27 set by Baylor’s Kevin Thomas, Spencer Rowe, Jacob Sosna, and Troy Taylor back in 2009.
