Arizona State Adds Verbal Commitment from Jakob Icimsoy
Arizona State has snagged another verbal commitment for the men’s class of 2022. Jakob Icimsoy has announced his intentions to join the Sun Devils. The high school junior is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and a fairly versatile swimmer. Icimsoy attends Everest Academy. He is a dual citizen with Australia and is also eligible for Turkish citizenship.
Icimsoy lives in Birmingham, Alabama where he is training under Bryan Jennings with the recently founded Wake Aquatics.

- 400 IM (3:59.18/4:39.57)
- 200 Fly (1:50.74/2:08.86)
- 200 Back (1:50.54/2:13.02)
- 200 Free (1:41.40/1:56.24)
- 500 Free (4:34.04/4:07.20)
Icimsoy shared his excitement about his decision,
“Fired up to announce my verbal commitment to swim for Arizona State University’s Class of 2022! I’m very excited and I know this decision will provide the best opportunities for me to succeed both academically and athletically. Icimsoy joins an Arizona State class that is already set to include Cody Bybee, Ethan Luc, Khalil Fonder, and Eddie Michael. Icimsoy is the most distance oriented swimmer of this group, with the rest being more 50-200 freestyle and 100 fly and 100 backstroke focused.
