Euro Champ Ksenia Moskvina Banned for Six Years for Repeat Offense

MOSCOW, Russia, March 14. RUSSIA has elected to ban former European champion Ksenia Moskvina for six years after a second doping offense according to RUSADA. Moskvina was already serving a year ban, and the new six-year ban will begin after her one-year banishment concludes on Nov. 25.

“Ksenia Moskvina is disqualified for a period of six years, starting from Nov 25, 2013, for a repeat breach of anti-doping rules,” RUSADA said in a statement.

No more information has been released. Moskvina captured the gold medal in the 100-meter back at the European Short Course Championships in 2009, with her time still standing as the European record.

Meanwhile, RUSADA also banned Ekaterina Andreeva for 18 months for an unspecified doping offense, with her punishment retroactive to Nov. 30.
