CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, May 14. MACHINE Aquatics' Jack Conger talks to Swimming World about his best in-season 200 backstroke swim at the Arena Grand Prix Charlotte, also known as the Charlotte UltraSwim. He placed second in the event, at a 2:00.25.
Conger looks six weeks into the future at the World Championships Trials. He hopes to make the Barcelona team, but if that doesn't happen he's still excited to represent the US at the World University Games this summer. Since Conger's best event (200 backstroke) has a stacked field, he instead may vie for a spot on the World Championship team in the 100 freestyle.
