Nathan Adrian Out of U.S. Winter Short Nationals Due to Jammed Finger
AUSTIN, Texas, November 29. NATHAN Adrian had a short meet at the U.S. Winter Short Course Nationals. After breaking the meet record with a sizzling time of 18.82 during prelims, the Olympic gold medalist jammed his pinkie on a laneline during warmdown and has scratched out of tonight's finals according to his Twitter account.
Had to scratch the 50 tonight after jamming my finger in the laneline during warmdown. Sad news but I don't want to hurt it any more!

The world is pretty disappointed in the outcome as Adrian definitely had his American record of 18.66 and Cesar Cielo's U.S. Open standard of 18.47 in his sights heading into finals this evening.
Additionally, Adrian told Swimming World's Jeff Commings that he was out the rest of the meet, saying that it was a good but short meet.
