Curl-Burke’s Katie Ledecky Downs Pair of 13-14 U.S. National Age Group Records
GERMANTOWN, Maryland, November 14. AT the National Age Group Team Challenge this weekend, Katie Ledecky, 14, had a most impressive outing, downing several U.S. National Age Group 13-14 yards records in the process.
She posted a scintillating time of 9:29.81 in the women's 1000-yard freestyle event, smashing one of the oldest records on the books. Michele Richardson had owned the record with a stunning time of 9:33.39 from back in 1984. She also downed the much-hallowed 1978 500-yard free record of 4:39.94 set by Cynthia "Sippy" Woodhead with a 4:35.14 in the middle distance event.
She also won the 200-yard free (1:47.76) and 200-yard IM (2:04.25) during her incredible weekend of performances.
