WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana, March 19. MINNESOTA's Kelci Bryant knocked off Houston's Anastasia Pozdniakova for the three meter diving crown.
Bryant amassed 415.50 points, while Pozdniakova took second with 406.45 points. Both efforts beat Pozdniakova's preliminary pool record of 390.10. Texas A&M's Jaele Patrick claimed third overall with a 381.75-point tally.
"It's my first NCAA meet, my first full college season, my first year at a new school," Bryant said. "It's really exciting. I had a tough day yesterday but I broke the pool record today and it feels awesome."
The win is Minnesota's first ever in the event, and the Big Tens third in a row as Ohio State's Chelsea Davis (2008) and Indiana's Christina Loukas (2009) won the previous to years.
Stanford held first with 240.5 points, while Arizona held second with 237.5 points. Georgia (222.5), California (222) and Florida (204) rounded out the top three.
