Arkansas Swimming Age Group Championships

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas. February 17. THE Dolphin Laser Swim Team came out on top after the short course yard championship at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Donaghey Student Center.
On the women's side, Jenny Holtzen from Rac Aquahawgs had three individual wins including the 500 free (4:57.94), 200 IM (2:10.73), and 200 free (1:54.82).
Shelby Cox from Dolphin Laser Swim Team also won three times in the 100 free (53.17), 50 free (24.27) and 100 back (59.38).
Clara Brady of Northwest Arkansas Aquatics had a total of three wins including one individual in the 100 fly (58.14) and two relay wins in the 200 medley relay (1:55.07) and 200 free relay (1:44.90).
Adrienne Marrow of Seals was the other individual winner for the women, winning the 100 breast (1:07.54).
For the men, Eric Zheng of Dolphin Laser Swim Team had an impressive total of six wins, including an Arkansas state record in the 200 IM (1:52.56). Zheng also touched first in the 500 free (4:41.97), 200 free (1:43.21) and tied for the win in the 100 fly (52.03) with Jimmy Burch from the Rac Aquahawgs. Zheng was also a member of the Dolphin Laser Swim Team's winning 200 medley relay (1:40.22) and 200 free relay (1:27.60).
Zheng's teammates, Brooks Wilmoth and Nick McCarthy, joined him on the two winning relays and also had individual wins of their own. Wilmoth won the 100 free (46.67) and 100 back (53.21), while McCarthy won the 50 free (21.41).
The Dolphin Laser Swim Team won the meet with 777.5 points, Rac Aquahawgs were second with 618.5 points, and Central Arkansas Swim Team came in third with 364.5.
