FINA World Championships, Swimming: Tyler Clary Earns Top Seed in Men’s 400 IM

ROME, Italy, August 2. IT will be a battle between the United States and Hungary in the center of the pool as part of the men's 400 IM finale at the FINA World Championships.
Tyler Clary of the United States earned the top seed in the finale with a 4:10.04, while Hungary's Laszlo Cseh finished with the second seed in 4:10.33.
Hungary's Gergo Kis (4:10.99) and the United States' Ryan Lochte (4:11.05) grabbed the next two seeds in the distance medley event.
Great Britain's Thomas Haffield (4:11.32), Israel's Gal Nevo (4:11.51), Italy's Luca Marin (4:12.66) and Brazil's Thiago Pereira (4:13.05) completed the championship field.
Haffield lowered his national record of 4:12.39 set in March, while Nevo smashed his national standard of 4:14.03 from the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
