Nunawading Swimming Club Hires Rohan Taylor
NUNAWADING, Victoria, September 17. TODAY, the Nunawading Swim Club announced that it inked Rohan Taylor to a four-year contract as its new High Performance Coach. Taylor will begin his stint with the club on Oct. 6.
Taylor most recently has coached the Lethal One, Leisel Jones, to a pair of gold medals along with one of the silver variety at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Taylor also coached Shayne Reese at the Olympics as well.
Over the past 10 years, Taylor has produced some of the top swimmers in Australia, and will bring his coaching knowledge to Nunawading.
"The Board is very excited about this announcement and is now looking to work towards a number of the other major initiatives that have evolved from the strategic plan," General Manager Gary Barclay said.
"The appointment of Rohan Taylor by the Nunawading Swimming Club to the newly created position of High Performance Coach is a positive and innovative move by the club," National Youth Coach Leigh Nugent said. "Such a move demonstrates the commitment that Nunawading Swimming Club has to improving the high performance coaching environment for its members and for Australian Swimming in general.
