Rebeca Gusmao Banned for Life

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, September 5. IN news just received from the Brazilian Swimming Federation, FINA has determined that Rebeca Gusmao will be suspended from the sport for life. The suspension is retroactive to July 18. 2007.
According to a release posted by Brazil's national fed, the suspension falls in line with FINA rules stating that athletes with two or more doping violations in a career can be banned for life.
In November 2007, Gusmao was suspended by FINA for Anabolic Androgenic Steroids. Then, in July of this year, Gusmao earned her second doping suspension from a positive test for testosterone stemming from a test in 2006.
