DUNKIRK, France, April 22. WORLD-record holder Laure Manaudou will not compete in the women's 200 free after pulling out of the competition at the French Olympic Trials today.
According to the International Herald Tribune, Manaudou qualified fourth out of preliminary heats but elected to scratch the semifinal round after clocking a 2:00.08, well off her top speed of 1:55.52 set at last year's World Championships.
After losing for the first time in the 400 free yesterday and breaking down into tears on the podium, Manaudou will be looking to rebound with a strong effort in the 100 back finale.
