Borja Iradier Leads Day Three of Spanish Championships With National Record
BARCELONA, Spain, July 26. BORJA Iradier, who had already owned the Spanish national record in the men's 50 breast, dropped the time twice more throughout the third day of long course meter swimming at the Spanish National Championships.
Iradier opened the day with a record time of 28.29 in prelims. This crushed his previous standard of 28.42 set on July 16, 2006. He followed that up with a winning time of 28.18. That effort moved him into the top 20 in the world this year.
One other Spanish record fell as the team of Jose Javier Cabanas Alberca (26.72), David Munoz Gonzalez (28.22), Javier Soriano Machado (23.91) and Javier Noriega Sanz (21.46) set the 200 medley relay record with a time of 1:40.31.
